Introducing Myself

Hi there! My name is Simon Swart and welcome to my Digital Law and Ethics blog. I am a 22 year old 2nd year Game Development student at Vega School Cape Town. My modules include Game Development (Programming), Game Design (3D Modeling and Animation, Mathematical Principles for Developers, Brand and Marketing, and last but not least Digital Law and Ethics for which I’m currently publishing this blog.

When it comes to game design in a nutshell I’d consider myself a Jack-of-all-trades being able to competently program and design games, animate 3D characters and conceptualize gaming concepts however my true passion lies in Narrative and World design. From a young age my mind has been constantly filled with ideas for worlds and characters and that holds true to this day. Due to my love of narrative design I am a big fan of role playing games, from JRPGs to Dungeons and Dragons. Outside of the gaming world however I am quite a sporty person who plays hockey throughout the winter and who plays and coaches baseball throughout the summer.

I’ve been exposed to social media for most of my life since I got my first smartphone. I use it as an escape from the world and to connect to people thousands of kilometers away.

Whilst I don’t necessarily think I am the most qualified to teach others about ethics considering the personal nature of the subject, I do think I can at the very least provide you, the reader, with some insights into my thoughts about Digital Law and Ethics.

Feel free to browse my posts and use the Contact page to tell me what you think! Thanks 😊
